Ingredients

  • beef back rib to taste
  • 2 pieces of beef tallow
  • ginger to taste
  • garlic to taste
  • star anise to taste
  • cooking wine to taste
  • light soy sauce to taste
  • dark soy sauce to taste
  • white sugar to taste

Instructions

  1. 1Cut the beef against the grain into slices, wash off blood water from the slices
  2. 2Put beef tallow in the pot, fry out oil then add ginger, garlic and star anise
  3. 3Add cold water, beef and cooking wine, bring to a boil with the lid covered, skim off the foam completely
  4. 4Add light soy sauce and dark soy sauce, cover and cook for 20 minutes
  5. 5Add sugar to thicken the sauce, transfer to a plate and serve
